Triple blasts kill at least 23 in South Baghdad

An Iraqi policeman uses a dog to search a car at a checkpoint in Baghdad, Iraq, 23 June 2011

The attacks on officials in Iraq have risen in recent months. Today, 3 bombs loaded in wooden carts detonated in the Shurt al-Raba market in south Baghdad. Explosions ripped through the district of the Iraqi capital. My guess is that the terriosts hid the carts inside the car. An American financial expert and at least 23 Iraqis were killed in the attack. Many people were wounded in the crowded market and security has been high since the recent bombings. After reading the article i felt that intrigued that 1 bomb was detonated near a place of worship for Muslims, Husseiniya. It shocked me extremely, what did the people of Baghdad do to deserve this? It saddens me to say that the violence in other countries are more violent and severe compared to what has occurred today. I chose this area simply because it is difficult to keep up with interesting news that is happening in the Middle East today.
Iraqi security personnel gather at the site of a bomb attack in Mussayab, about 60 km (40 miles) south of Baghdad June 21, 2011. Five people were killed and nine others wounded when a bomb left in a restaurant went off in Mussayab, police said.
