Week 1 : Syrian Forces Open Fire On Protesters : 16 Killed

On Friday Syrian forces fire on protesters on the streets and 16 citizens were killed. Those people are protesting about their president, president Bashar Assad. The human rights activists said about 1,400 Syrians have been killed in the three-month uprising. A Syrian refugee who is now living at a Turkey refugee camp along with about 10,000 Syrians who also fled from their homeland said that they are only demanding for freedom and democracy. He also stated that the Syrian government have turned a sugar factory into a jail where they an hold quick trials and kill anyone who they believe have participated in the protest. A few countries including France and Britain are sponsoring U.N. Security Council to condemn Syria. They said they already have enough votes and now they just want more support. I picked this article because I heard about the protest in Syria but I didn't know what they were protesting about so I searched it up and I found this article.
