Week 2: Debate

As the chair of the debate, i felt I did pretty good for my first time. There is obviously room for improvement, but I felt that impressed with myself. I did better than expected. Our debate went well. I liked how the debate went very smoothly without too many promblems or interuptions. Everyone tried their best and the debate was great. I disliked how adjudicators or chairs can't asked questions. It bored me not being able to tear down the opponent with mutiple questions. From my own observations, my speaking skills got a little rusty over the school year, not being able to go to aci and all, but you know, I'll improve again. At some points the debate was hard to follow, because certain people talked slowly, left lots of spaces in between sentences, and umed and uhhed a lot. At first. I felt that there was a little injustice in the adjudication census, but after hearing the adjudicator's reasons for there rankings, I considered their opinions and eventually agreed in my head. About the debate, I felt the topic wasn't as informitive which left us with little reasons to make our arguments. That is probably the main reason nobody exceeded 4 minutes without stammering. But overall, I feel that the Intermidiate Debate's first debate was a sucess. I APPLAUD YOU!!! lol
