Week 9

The U.S. Postal Service is considering cutting as many as 120,000 jobs! After facing a year of losses totaling to around $8 billion dollars, the agency wants to take out its workers from health benefit plans, as well as retirement plans. In order to do this, congress needs to approve of these plans. Over the past four years, the postal office has cut 110,00 jobs! Many things are contributing to the post office recession. For example, the internet. Many people use the internet to contact each other, rather than my mail. Post officials need to make a $5.5 billion payment to cover future employee health care costs, which is due by September 3oth. If congress doesn't act soon, the post office will not be able to make the payment by the due date.
